Wellness Staff

Behind the scenes of a first responder wellness program is a dedicated team working tirelessly to ensure its success. They coordinate outreach efforts, develop educational materials, and maintain the infrastructure that keeps the program running smoothly. Often unnoticed, their work is essential to creating a seamless experience for first responders seeking help. Driven by a shared commitment to well-being and resilience, these behind-the-scenes heroes ensure that crucial support is always available when it’s needed most.

Clinical Development

Shana Mislak

​Shana has a Masters in Social Work and has been in practice since 1989. Her clinical background includes Family Therapist at Sheppard Pratt Hospital-Adolescent Unit, Eating Disorders Unit, Counselor for Weight Management Center, Director of the Family Program at Hidden Brook Alcohol/Drug Rehabilitation Center, Consultant at Phoenix Recovery Center, Family Counselor at Father Martin’s Ashley Family Wellness Program and the Children/ Youth Program. Shana is further certified in addictions and has provided individual and group counseling throughout her career. She has been utilizing EMDR since 1999. She is certified in EMDR and is also an EMDR Consultant. She provides monthly group consultation for EMDR colleagues. She is also trained in Brainspotting.

Wellness Support Team

Michele Willoughby

Michele entered the Baltimore City Fire Department in 1999.  She was the first female assigned to a truck company and serving as a fire apparatus driver. She received numerous commendations, including the Henry G. Nathan Award. Michele recently retired after 25 years of service and is now focusing on the mental health wellness of fellow firefighters and EMS personnel.

Wellness Coordinator

Amy Belt

​Amy Belt is a devoted advocate for the mental health and wellbeing of first responders and their families. Amy is an active member of the Delta-Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company. It was through her service with the fire company where Amy witnessed firsthand the emotional toll that traumatic calls can take on first responders and their families. Amy has completed an internship through the IAFF Center of Excellence and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling  at Lebanon Valley College.

Wellness Support Team

Greg Dietrich

Greg is a Nationally Registered Paramedic and has served in multiple leadership roles as both a volunteer and a paid paramedic in his local community. These roles include: EMS Chief, EMS Field Supervisor, and peer mental health support to his fellow first responders. Greg works full time for the US Army  at the US Combat Capabilities Development Command Army Research Laboratory. 

Mission Support

Administrative staff play a crucial role in the success of a first responder wellness program. These professionals provide essential support by managing logistics, coordinating schedules, and ensuring smooth communication between team members and stakeholders. They handle the organization of wellness events, training sessions, and appointments, helping first responders access the services they need without delays or confusion. Administrative staff also maintain confidential records, track program metrics, and compile reports to assess the effectiveness of wellness
